I began training Jiujitsu in 1995 and I have worked with many instructors. When I was a new purple belt I met Marcello Monteiro and I was extremely impressed with his technique and his coaching ability. Marcello spent a lot of time with me and greatly improved my technique in a very short time.
Monteiro has a compassion for teaching the art of Jiujitsu that is rarely seen. Even after many years of training in Jiujitsu I am always learning new techniques from him. He is an inspiration to my students and me and I know many great champions have called Marcello a living encyclopedia of Jiujitsu.
