I met Marcello C. Monteiro during the selective of the first world championship (which Marcello won), which took place at the Carlson Gracie academy. At that time, as an opponent, I already knew Marcello as a technical fighter, with a great determination and a competitive spirit.

Today, we are training partners in the same academy(De La Riva) and Marcello is a specialist in study of techniques used by all the competing team of the academy.

This great jiu-jitsu teacher is, nowadays, one of the most technical fighters on competion team and his presence is of extreme importance, to all of us, during competition time.
